How to File

  1. Establish a separate bank account for campaign purposes only in the name of the candidate or the candidate's campaign.
  2. From the campaign account, have a cashier's check or money order made payable to Osage Nation Elections for $300 for the filing fee.  
  3. On the day of filing, bring to the Wahzhazhe Elections Office:
    • Proof of Osage membership
    • Government-issued photo ID
    • Proof of campaign bank account that shows the name and number of the account
    • $300 cashier's check or money order
    • Filing forms
      • Declaration of Candidacy (Required to be signed in front of a Wahzhazhe Elections notary.)
      • Campaign Manager or Committee Authorization
      • Voter Registry Request

Assistant Chief $400

Congress $300

Required Qualifications

Chief and Assistant Chief
  • Be an enrolled member of the Osage Nation
  • Be at least thirty-five (35) years of age on the date of the election
  • Have never been convicted of a felony
