Osage Nation 1st Annual Wah-Zha-Zhi Christmas at Pawhuska

Osage Nation, Pawhuska, OK—November 7, 2014—Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear and Assistant Chief Raymond Red Corn wish to extend a holiday invitation to everyone to attend the 1st Annual Wah-Zha-Zhi Christmas on Saturday, December 6th.

The day is slated with several events beginning with the Christmas Extravaganza, an opportunity to shop among wares from a variety of artists, crafters, and merchants from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center at 1449 West Main Street.  Santa Claus will be making an appearance from 1-4pm.

The evening activities include

  • 6:00pm—Chief Standing Bear and Assistant Chief Red Corn riding on Osage Nation Head Start float during the Pawhuska City Parade.

  • 7:00pm—Osage Nation employees will have an art contest display on the Seventh Street Stairway.

  • 7:20pm—Christmas Caroling with the Osage Nation Head Start children, Chief Standing Bear and Assistant Chief Red Corn on the steps of the Executive Building on the tribal campus at 627 Grandview Avenue. There will also be a bonfire and Smokey the Bear will make an appearance as well as refreshments provided.

  • 8:30-9:00pm—Winners presentation for the children’s art contest and the Nation’s employee contest at Congress/Minerals Building at 813 Grandview Avenue.
