CDFI Target Market Survey
Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
May 3, 2021
Osage Nation announces a nationwide Target Market survey for the Osage Nation Community Development Finance Institution (ONCDFI) named ??????? ??? ?? (A place to borrow money). The purpose of the survey is to determine the financial lending needs of Osage Nation members. The survey will be posted on the Osage Nation website, as well as other Osage Nation social media for three weeks starting May 10-31. Chief Standing Bear said, “The survey results will help Osage Nation build towards having a credit union or even a full-service bank and the ONCDFI is the beginning of this road.” Osage Nation plans on moving quickly and with expert advice to make the ONCDFI a lending institution to meet personal finance needs of Osage members anywhere in the country. “This is a large project and most of the Osage Congress has given their support.” Standing Bear said. In April, the Osage Nation Congress took the first steps to develop the structure of the ONCDFI by passing by majority vote the Non-profit Corporation Code and the Articles of Incorporation for the ONCDFI. Based on the market survey results, the ONCDFI will then be able to determine the types of loans that will be developed which will ultimately enhance the economic sovereignty, financial security, and growth of Osage Nation members.
