The amended Osage Nation Constitution is available for all Osage Nation Constituents. Physical copies are available at both the Judicial Branch Building at 1333 Grandview Ave. and the Visitor’s Center at 602 E. Main St. in Pawhuska, Okla. Digital copies are available to download at osagenation-nsn.gov.
The amended version reflects changes that the Osage Nation Congress passed to add term limits of five terms for Principal Chief, Assistant Principal Chief and Congress. In addition, modifications were made to improve readability. The red cover replaces the previous purple cover in order to clearly identify which is the most recent.
The Osage Nation Constitution was ratified on March 11, 2006, signed on May 6, 2006, and amended on June 2, 2014; June 6, 2016; March 20, 2017; and June 1, 2020. It is the supreme law for the Osage Nation. All Osage Nation constituents are encouraged to access the Constitution as an act of sovereignty and responsible citizenry.
