Osage Nation Emergency Management (ONEM) receives an emergency vehicle through CARES Act funding. The “Command Post” will be used to respond to public safety incidents and major disasters.

The ONEM received the “Command Post” in December of 2021. Through ARPA funding for the Continuation of CARES Act projects they recently applied a wrap-around graphic to identify their department and the Nation.

“With the addition of this vehicle and other equipment, we now have the base on which to build on our capabilities,” said ONEM Administrative Assistance William Mitchell. “Not only is it highly visible with the custom-made graphics, but it is also a fully functional mobile office space. It comes equipped with communication devices, office space, and an onboard generator. Future investments will include the installation of a flat-screen monitor to enhance the Nation’s abilities to utilize drone technology to include search and rescue training deployments.”

ONEM worked with Osage Nation Information Technology to determine needs and capabilities.  This partnership allows Public Safety Departments to utilize this vehicle as a mobile dispatch center. The department looks forward to additional future developments to the vehicle.
