Osage Nation Housing – Public Notice: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding Information

The Osage Nation Housing Department is preparing to apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This funding is made available to tribal nations to improve housing conditions and strengthen communities by serving the needs of low- to moderate-income (LMI) tribal members and families.

Available Funding
For Fiscal Year 2025, HUD has allocated $18,003,709 in total CDBG funds to the Southern Plains Region, which includes the Osage Nation.
- Minimum Award: $500,000
- Maximum Award: $2,000,000

The Housing Department intends to apply for a competitive award within this range to address critical housing needs in Osage County.
 

Eligible Housing and Community Development Activities
CDBG funding may be used for a variety of housing and community development projects, including but not limited to:

- Construction of New Housing Units – Building new homes to serve low-income families.
- Rehabilitation of Existing Housing – Repairing or improving homes to meet safety and livability standards.
- Infrastructure Development – Utilities, water, sewer, streets, or other public improvements directly supporting housing projects.
- Community Facilities – Buildings or facilities that primarily benefit low-income populations.
- Planning and Administrative Costs – Limited to 20% of the total grant for project planning, management, and compliance.
This information is being provided to ensure Osage Nation tribal members are aware of the potential funding opportunity and the range of eligible activities that may be supported by the CDBG program, in compliance with federal requirements.
