WZZHC Provides Osage Nation Employee COVID Testing Update

382 employees tested negative with zero positive cases, safety efforts to continue

OSAGE RESERVATION, OKLA. (September 10, 2021) – The Wahzhazhe Health Center (WZZHC) conducted an Osage Nation employee COVID-19 testing event on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Of the 382 employees tested, there were zero positive cases. Osage Nation employee COVID-19 testing is an effort to aid in identifying infectious individuals with the goal of reducing transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace.

All current safety measures at Osage Nation workplaces, including a mask mandate, will remain in place with vaccinations encouraged. Per an executive order by Chief Standing Bear on August 2, 2021, β€œemployees who have taken the extra step in helping protect themselves and others in the fight against COVID-19 by becoming fully vaccinated, an extra day off for PTO time will be granted to those employees who have completed the 2-dose series, such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or their single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine.”

WZZHC continues to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for both Native and Non-Native individuals 12+ years old Monday through Friday, by appointment only.
