BIE Announces Osage Tribal Education Committee Vacancies

The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) is announcing two vacancies which have occurred on the Osage Tribal Education Committee (OTEC).  These vacancies are for the Pawhuska Village and Grayhorse communities.  The purpose of this notice is to solicit applications from individuals who would like to represent these communities on OTEC.

The requirements of the representatives are:

  1. Must be an adult Osage tribal member who is an allottee or a descendent of an allottee; and
  2. Must be a legal resident and /or live within a 20 mile radius of the Pawhuska Village and Grayhorse communities.

Committee members will be expected to meet a minimum of two (2) times per year (once late summer and once in early February) to review and approve the list of OTEC scholarship recipients for each academic semester.  In addition, the Committee usually meets once or twice additionally each year to conduct routine business (approve budgets, approve new Committee members, etc.)

To apply, interested applicants must submit an email containing their name, address and a brief statement outlining their desire for serving on the committee.  The email should be sent to spike.bighorn@bie.edu on or before April 30, 2023.
