New Equipment at Osage Nation Fitness Centers in time for New Year's Resolutions
“You’re busy, you’re stressed, it’s chilly ... so why not take a break from your fitness program until the New Year?”
It’s certainly a good excuse and one many will use especially as the holiday season approaches. Between jobs, school, family responsibilities, and tons of other stuff, it can be one of the most hectic times of the year. While it is a time of fun and celebration, on the other hand it can be a time when the blues creep up and bring one’s feelings down.
During the holiday shopping, cooking, and making plans on whom to visit and when, if at all possible try to keep some exercise in your plans. It is good for stress as well as depression.
The Osage Nation Fitness Center has three locations in the tribal service area: Fairfax, Hominy and Pawhuska. The facilities earlier this month received new equipment. All three centers have new, state-of-the-art cardio machines. The Pawhuska location was the only one to receive new strength building equipment.
The centers are open to the public, age fourteen-years-old and up. Services include personal as well as specialized handicap training and weight management. The strength building equipment is also suitable for pregnant women allowing them to work out in upright positions. The fitness centers are free to Osage Nation tribal members and employees, and only $15 a month to all others.
