Applications are being accepted for the Osage Nation Disability Program
PAWHUSKA, OK - 10/17/2016. With the recent passage of the Osage Nation Health and Wellness Division budget, additional funds are now available to assist disabled members of the Osage Nation. To qualify as disabled, the person must have a physical and/or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. Qualifying Osage members can apply for one thousand dollars ($1,000) in assistance per person, per year. Eligible participants are administered to on a first come, first serve basis.
“Tribal funds have been increased from $50,000 to $150,000 for this year” said Jodie Revard, Director for the Financial Assistance Department. In addition, she noted that “this program serves all disabled Osage members, regardless of where they live.” Funding for fiscal year 2017 will allow the Osage Nation to triple the number of tribal members receiving assistance versus last year.
To qualify, applicants must be enrolled members of the Osage Nation and provide approved third-party verification of an existing disability.
