Pawhuska, OK (12/28/2016) – The Osage Nation Museum (ONM) will be open by appointment only from January 3rd – January 16th 2017 in order to allow for the completion of a major lighting renovation project in public spaces. The ONM is proud to announce that we are converting all lighting in the museum to LED lighting. LED lighting does not emit harmful UV light, and it is high-efficiency meaning our carbon footprint (and monthly electric bill!) is greatly reduced. The new lighting will improve the conditions for the objects both on display and in storage as well as allow for dramatic exhibition lighting. This new system will allow for greater flexibility in displaying objects and create more aesthetically appealing gallery spaces. This project is just one of the many ways we are continuing to improve the ONM both for our visitors, and for the long-term preservation of the collection housed here.

The Museum will resume normal hours on January 17th 2017.

As a result of the lighting installation and the temporary closure, the ONM is pleased to extend the exhibit Carl Ponca: A Retrospective until January 28. Come see this unforgettable exhibit dedicated to a lifelong artist and arts advocate.

To set up an appointment to visit the ONM please call 918-287-5441.
