WZZHC Provides Osage Nation Employee COVID Testing Update
382 employees tested negative with zero positive cases, safety efforts to continue
OSAGE RESERVATION, OKLA. (September 10, 2021) – The Wahzhazhe Health Center (WZZHC) conducted an Osage Nation employee COVID-19 testing event on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Of the 382 employees tested, there were zero positive cases. Osage Nation employee COVID-19 testing is an effort to aid in identifying infectious individuals with the goal of reducing transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace.
All current safety measures at Osage Nation workplaces, including a mask mandate, will remain in place with vaccinations encouraged. Per an executive order by Chief Standing Bear on August 2, 2021, “employees who have taken the extra step in helping protect themselves and others in the fight against COVID-19 by becoming fully vaccinated, an extra day off for PTO time will be granted to those employees who have completed the 2-dose series, such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or their single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine.”
WZZHC continues to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for both Native and Non-Native individuals 12+ years old Monday through Friday, by appointment only.
