Osage Minerals Council presents "Empowering our Energy through Innovation"
As things return to normal after two years of the pandemic, the Osage Oil and Gas Summit is scheduled for April 13-15, 2022 at the Osage Casino in Tulsa. The theme this year is "Empowering our Energy through Innovation."
Osage Minerals Council Chairman Everett Waller said, “The past two years, we have felt the global highs and lows of oil and gas. I commend the producer, as well as our Council who had to weather the storm. I’m looking forward to each and every one of us getting back together to share our thoughts and ideas to preserve the future on our Osage Reservation.”
Highlighting this year’s events will be a series of experts in the energy field. Geologist Shane Matson, Director of New Earth Ventures, will be a featured speaker, the topic will be "Understanding the Past to Explore the Future." The banquet speaker will be Matt Newman giving a presentation about Oklahoma’s latest hydrogen study—Hydrogen Production, Infrastructure and Production Task Force Report and Roadmap. Oklahoma State University’s Geology Department Head Dr. Camelia Knapp will speak about carbon capture and storage. Additionally, speakers will also be featured from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa.
With the exception of the 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, this year marks 19 years the Osage Minerals Council has hosted the summit.
Osage Minerals Councilmember Margo Gray said, “As we emerge out of the pandemic, we are also looking at more innovative ways to produce and monetize our Mineral Estate such as our hydrogen study, carbon capture, CO2 sequestration, and more which will provide greater areas for profit. The oil and gas market has changed so much over the past two years, it’s a perfect and exciting time for us to get together and discuss the future for the Osage.”
