Osage Nation Departments Team Up for Child Abuse Prevention Month

Child Abuse Prevention Awareness

OSAGE RESERVATION, OKLA. (April 18, 2022) – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Osage Nation’s Social Services and Child Care and Development Services Departments are teaming up to raise awareness. Blue ribbons, the child abuse awareness color symbol, can be found throughout the Osage Nation campus. In addition, an awareness walk will be held on Thursday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m. led by students from Wahzhazhe Early Learning Academies and Daposka Ahnkodapi. The walk is open to the public. The walk will begin and end at the gazebo directly in front of the Osage Nation Museum. Participants are encouraged to wear blue.

Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through this collaboration, prevention services and supports help protect children and produce thriving families.
