John Williams is the Senior Advisor for Chief Standing Bear. He graduated from Fairfax High School and attended Northeastern State College before joining the United States Army. He served as the Senior Combat Medic in Vietnam on a Special Forces A-team near the Cambodian border. After being discharged, he became a Physician’s Assistant and served as independent primary care provider on several Isolated Reservations with the Indian Health Services. Later he became a Health Administrator. He also served as the CEO for I.H.S. hospitals in Nebraska and Oklahoma. He also served as the Contract Health Service Officer in the Aberdeen Area; additionally his duties included being the EEO officer for the Area.
After serving in I.H.S. for 34 years, he retired and served on the Osage Council for 4 years. He worked with the new Government as the Director of Operations in 2008-2010. John also has experience with the Grayhorse 5 man village board, Advisor for Grayhorse Drumkeeper Committee, and the Grayhorse War Mothers Advisor.
