Community members are urged to closely monitor symptoms, test regularly, stay home if sick
OSAGE RESERVATION, OKLA. (June 8, 2022) – The month of June is a uniquely special time of gathering for the Wahzhazhe. The Wahzhazhe Health Center urges our community to take careful precautions in an effort to keep our community safe, especially our most vulnerable. Please review the following information and do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19.
GET VACCINATED/BOOSTED: Maximize protection, get all recommended vaccine doses and get boosters as soon as possible. To schedule your vaccination/booster at the WZZHC, please call (918) 287-0028. Find additional ways to get vaccinated/boosted by visiting cdc.gov and/or contacting your local health department.
GET TESTED: To schedule a COVID-19 test at the WZZHC, please call (918) 287-0028. Find additional ways to get vaccinated/boosted by visiting cdc.gov and/or contacting your local health department.
Self-Tests: Self-tests for COVID-19 give rapid results and can be taken anywhere, regardless of your vaccination status or whether or not you have symptoms.
- Order free tests at COVIDtests.gov
- Free tests are also available through local health departments.
- Buy tests online or in pharmacies and retail stores. Private health insurance may reimburse the cost of purchasing self-tests.
- If you’re not able to obtain a self-test when you need it, you might also visit a community testing site, or call your local health department for more options.
Test Yourself If:
- You have any COVID-19 symptoms: Immediately
- You were exposed to someone with COVID-19: At least 5 days after your exposure. If you test negative for COVID-19, consider testing again 1 to 2 days after your first test.
- You are going to an indoor event or a gathering: Immediately before the gathering, or as close to the time of the event as possible. This is especially important before gathering with individuals at risk of severe disease, older adults, those who are immunocompromised, or people who are not up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines, including children who cannot get vaccinated yet.
If you do test positive:
- Isolate for 5 days.
- After 5 days of isolation, wear a mask and social distance for an additional 5 days.
- Closely monitor your symptoms and seek medical care, if needed
In addition to these guidelines, the WZZHC urges individuals to not drink from the same fluids or share eating/drinking utensils. Masks and social distancing continue to be recommended. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, stay home until a negative test result is confirmed.
Do your part to keep our community safe: GET VACCINATED/BOOSTED. GET TESTED. STAY HOME IF YOU’RE FEELING SICK.
